Provider Stories|

Each month, Early Learning Resource Centers are asked to nominate an early learning program for accomplishments they’ve recently made to spotlight on the PA’s Promise for Children website.

The following provider was nominated by their Early Learning Resource Center for the month of April 2019.

Provider: YMCA Child Care

The YMCA Child Care serving Bradford, McKean Counties had their first renewal assessment and maintained their Keystone STAR 3 scores using the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale®, Third Edition (ECERS-3) tool (along with the Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale (ITERS-R) and School-Age Care Environment Rating Scale®, Updated Edition (SACERS-Updated)).

This is wonderful accomplishment because most of their preparation was done in house under the strong guidance of their director. Their Early Learning Resource Center is impressed with their drive and initiative.

Because of their success, they are now motivated to move up to a Keystone STAR 4.  Very excited for the things this program is providing for their community!

Environment Rating Scales are designed to assess quality in an early childhood or school age care group.
