Mom, Sarah, shares how Early Head Start and Parents as Teachers gave her the tools to help her son.
Gojko was born 4 weeks early and seemed to be about a month behind on milestones. At about a year old and a half, he seemed to catch up and get ahead. We enrolled him in Early Head Start where we learned he was a little behind on his fine motor skills, but David [Family Development Specialist] gave me the tools to catch him up.
He is constantly surprising me with new words or actions. He is so determined and never gives up. He isn’t afraid to try new things. He is always on the go and is starting to relate to people. It’s a joy just seeing him grow and watching the young man he’s becoming.
