Each month, Early Learning Resource Centers are asked to nominate an early learning program for accomplishments they’ve recently made to spotlight on the PA’s Promise for Children website.
The following providers was nominated by their Early Learning Resource Center for the month of April 2019.
Provider: Homer City Pre-K, Indiana County
The Homer City Pre-K made significant gains since their last Environment Rating Scale (ERS) diagnostic visit on 3/1/17 with a score of 4.6. Recently, the site was reassessed at their ERS renewal and received a score of 5.71!
The assessor made notes that the classroom was cheerful and an inviting space. The teachers were warm and caring towards the children and treated them fairly and with respect. Many informal conversations were observed between the teachers and children about their play activities and the children’s experiences beyond the classroom.
Environment Rating Scales are designed to assess quality in an early childhood or school age care group.
