Each month, Early Learning Resource Centers are asked to nominate an early learning program for accomplishments they’ve recently made to spotlight on the PA’s Promise for Children website.
The following providers was nominated by their Early Learning Resource Center for the month of April 2019.
Provider: Jenea Brooks of Creative Community, LLC
Jenea Brooks of Creative Community, LLC is nominated as a rising star in early childhood. Jenea began her career in early childhood as a teacher in Pittsburgh area child care centers, having worked in toddler and preschool classrooms. She worked to get a bachelor’s degree in Instructional Studies from Point Park and now owns her own center, Creative Community, LLC in Swissvale.
Creative Community, LLC was officially designated as a STAR 1 site in March of 2018, and in under a year, Jenea did the hard work of gathering the information, getting her teachers the right professional development and having the correct policies and procedures in place to achieve STAR 2 status.
Jenea is also active with other children in her community through coaching cheer leading and being active in her son’s school community. She was also nominated by an adviser at Point Park to be included in their Notable Alumni of Excellence gallery on their school campus.
