Each month, Early Learning Resource Centers are asked to nominate an early learning program for accomplishments they’ve recently made to spotlight on the PA’s Promise for Children website.
The following provider was nominated by their Early Learning Resource Center for the month of April 2019.
Provider: Colleen Lovell’s Family Day Care, Elk County
Colleen Lovell is a former relative/neighbor provider who worked hard to make the changes needed to become a licensed family child care provider. When Colleen began in the Start-Up Technical Assistance program about a year and a half ago, she expressed her reason for wanting to become a licensed facility.
Colleen indicated that she cares about the care she provides and wants to be more than a babysitter–she wants to be a professional in the field and help children reach their full potential.
Colleen received her provisional license in January of 2018, and 13 months later, in February 2019, she achieved STAR 2.
