WIC – (Women, Infants, Children)
WIC is a federally funded program that provides healthy supplemental foods and nutrition services for low-income pregnant women, postpartum and breastfeeding women, infants and children under age five in a supportive environment.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – Food Stamps
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the new name for the Food Stamp program. SNAP benefits are used to buy food and help eligible low-income households in Pennsylvania obtain more nutritious diets by increasing their food purchasing power at grocery stores and supermarkets. If you are eligible for SNAP, you will receive a Pennsylvania Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) ACCESS Card. This card works like a bank debit card and is used to make food purchases at grocery stores and supermarkets.

I think having a food program for your family is a really good idea. Like you said, children that are hungry can’t learn. I have always struggled to know when and how to feed my kids. I want to make sure they are getting the proper nutrition that they need. I will look into having a food program, because I think that would help a lot!
