News, What's Happening

Share your thoughts, ideas, and experiences with other families.

Families deserve good information that helps their young children be safe, happy, and learning. In partnership with the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning, Pennsylvania’s Promise for Children has a lot of great, reliable information, but is it easy to find and use? PA’s Promise is looking for families to share their opinions so more families can get the information they need to help their children learn and grow.

The more, the merrier! All sorts of families are welcome – parents, grandparents, foster parents – anyone who cares for a child five years old or younger. Every voice matters!

Join the Family Voices Team

Members of the Family Voices Team share their opinions about PA’s Promise for Children website and materials on things like

  • Does this matter to you?
  • How would you use this information?
  • What do you like and not like about it?
  • How could this be better?

You can join sessions in person, online or by phone. Sessions will be scheduled around lunchtime, in the mornings or evenings. Members that participate in person can be reimbursed for travel and parking.

Participate as little or as much as you’d like. Your input matters – even if it’s only one time!

Write a Guest Blog

Families offer a perspective on the joys and challenges of raising a young child that can be a terrific support to others. Share your voice as a guest blogger on the PA’s Promise website. Each month a different guest will share how they handled different experiences with their child on topics like:

  • Getting answers when you have questions about your child’s development.
  • How to build your own support network.
  • Making the decision to switch child care providers.
  • How to make it work while you wait for child care subsidy (CCIS).
  • Going back to work after the first baby – how did you get ready for the transition?

PA’s Promise staff can help your write your piece, or interview you and draft the piece for your review. Each blog will be less than 500 words.
