    • Mary says:

If you have a complaint about a child care provider or program, you can go to and scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you’ll see “Need to report a complaint about a certified child care provider? Submit a Complaint or Incident.” Just click that link and it will take you to an online form.

  • Concerned Parent says:

What are you doing to protect toddlers and young children from radon? There are so many daycare centers which are located in basements!

  • Blaire says:

So there’s nothing for Pre-K Counts in Armstrong County???

  • Anonymous says:

Can you tell me if your teachers are a level 3?

  • Jen says:

What if there is no pre-k counts program in the school district you live in? My daughter could really benefit from this program this year. Is registration closed and are there any programs like this for Red Lion Area School District York County Pa? I know there are programs in neighboring school districts, just none in mine. Thanks in advance!

Are the handouts available in Spanish?
I am specifically looking for 6 Tips and 5 Promises.

My sister is desperately wanting to get her daughter (who has Classic PKU, a very rare disorder) into out PreK counts program. She is eligible for a 504, from what her doctors are telling her at Children’s hospital. However, they exceed the income guidelines that are listed. is it possible to get into the program for other reasons? The hospital is advising her to get her in a small setting classroom as early as possible. Thank you for any advice!

  • Kim says:

In regards to pre k counts are the guidelines based on net income or adjusted gross income? Also once a child qualifies for the program do they need to requalify the following year?

    • Mary P. Hall says:

Kim, the income guidelines for PA Pre-K Counts are for a family earning up to 300% of poverty. For additional details, you should contact the PA Pre-K Counts program serving your area. To find PA Pre-K Counts programs near you, use the program search feature on the COMPASS website.

Please contact the lead agency directly for enrollment information, such as locations of classrooms and how to apply. Many grantees are partnering with other programs to provide classrooms in nearby cities, so contact them directly for information on all of their locations.

      • Kim says:

This is the first year for the center, and they were unaware if the 300 percent guideline was based on net or adjusted gross income. Anyway to find that out? My children attended the prek counts program last year, the facility has since closed. Looking to have them continue with the prek counts program at new facility.

Hello, Jasmine. There are a lot of early learning materials available on the PA’s Promise for Children website. If your son will be starting kindergarten, a great place to start is the Kindergarten page. There you can view and print the Kindergarten, Here I Come Activity Guide, as well as sign up for the monthly Kindergarten, Here I Come enews. Each month you’ll receive an email filled with fun ideas to help your son get ready for kindergarten.
